A tiny noise

There’s this recurring bit of feedback in The Bagman’s Gambit that send little shivers up my spine.

The bulk of the instrumentation comes to a dead stop, only the strings fading out, before the noise leads the the band back in.

It’s very much a ‘punch the sky’ moment. Weirdly bombastic. The sonic equivalent of a bloke yelling “CHARGE!” It’s not an angry song by any stretch, but it is a bitter, dark, bleak little tune, and that sharp screech just helps the whole damning story twist into shape.
